This is where I bore you with details about myself. My name is K. Joanne
Gordon, aka RavenFair. I'm in my 40's, but not the least bit
cynical about my years of life experience *smile*. I am recovering from
major back surgery which had disabled me since 1994 (say a prayer for my
continued improvement).
I completed a course in Computer
Systems Management and Support at NSCC in 2001 to update the skillsets and
familiarity with all things computer, a journey started in 1988.
I am
blessed to be the mom of two wonderful children, Christian and Sarah. If you
click on the book featured below, you can view some pictures of me and my most
precious gifts.
With the encouragement of many talented friends I'm
trying my hand, or rather my voice, at creating music. Lately I've had the
opportunity to perform with an interesting and wonderful collection of artists.
"The Great Rite"
On a spiritual
note, I've been soul searching for most of my life. I've discovered some
phenomenal sources for enlightenment, one of which are the Celestine Prophecies
by James Redfield. It represents my belief in the universality of man and a
higher power, as well as my belief in the quite simple and yet complex change of
energy forms.
I am involved in researching Earth
Religions, an enriching and enlightening experience in itself. The principle
teachings are simple...Harm none...the rule of three...and would be well served
to follow from any religious standpoint - even simply from a moral standpoint.
For more info on this subject or
other spiritual subjects, follow some of the links on the previous
page.
I've tried to encompass as
many methodologies as possible as tools for enriching my spirit and to become
the most spiritual being I am capable of becoming. I hope I do not offend
anyone else's belief system in the pursuit of the path that is best for me...it
is certainly not my wish nor intent to do so.
Perhaps I should make it clear that as
well as having read the Celestine Prophecies and gleaning what I can
from those, and researching earth religions, I will also consider myself
fortunate to be able to read the other important religious texts as opportunity
dictates... I hope to be taking courses in theology and comparative religions as
time allows over the next years, hoping to increase my awareness and
understanding of all of the belief systems of this earth... Symbolically, I
choose to wear a Cross, a Pentagram, which represents the earth elements as well
as 'akasha' or spirit (most DEFINITELY NOT the worship or even acknowledgement
of satan), a Star of David, a symbol of 'AUM', and a crescent and star to
represent all of the organized religions that I am becoming familiar with. I
identify with the Raven in a native american/canadian environment, as
well, ravens are said (throughout the history of religion) to be amongst the
messengers of god.
On a lighter note, with the
nickname Ravenfair, it's a natural obsession with shiny things that afflicts
me.
As a strong independant lady with a dreamer's heart, I've managed
to prevent myself from 'settling' in my life. This idealism and romantism has of
late presented me with numerous challenges, to say the least. But as always, the
journey IS the goal and the journey is always interesting.
I'll be updating these pages as often as time permits..in
the meantime, Enjoy, Harm Ye None, and Blessed Be... RavenFair
